About the Opportunity
The Supervisor- Patient Service Center is responsible for leading and mentoring the Patient Service Center team to optimize service quality and operational performance. This role involves overseeing daily functions, coaching staff, and ensuring the team meets key service metrics to support patient account management and scheduling efforts.
Responsibilities
- Provide daily support, mentoring, and training to new and existing Patient Service Center staff
- Foster a culture of service excellence focused on consistent positive customer experiences
- Collaborate with management to meet operational goals, including reviewing collections, denials, and performance metrics
- Perform patient financial clearance and/or scheduling as needed to maintain service levels
- Monitor daily activities and prepare performance and metric reports
- Enforce departmental policies, procedures, and work rules according to guidelines
- Coordinate daily team meetings to promote engagement, communication, and collaboration
- Address inquiries and assist with patient issues and escalations
- Supervise direct reports, including interviewing, hiring, training, evaluating, and managing staff performance
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required; college degree preferred
- 3-5 years of call center experience preferred
- 3-5 years of healthcare industry experience preferred
- 2+ years in a supervisory or lead role preferred
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and leadership skills
- Knowledge of healthcare information systems and hospital operations
- Customer service experience and strong communication skills
- Understanding of medical terminology, third party payor requirements, and compliance standards
- Ability to multitask across multiple computer systems
- Familiarity with Windows environments and dual monitor setups
- Basic typing skills
