Supervisor Operations

About the role

The Operations Supervisor oversees all operations activities within an assigned geographical area. This role ensures driver or laborer safety and operational efficiency, reports findings to upper management, schedules shifts, plans for call-ins/no-shows, and tracks department metrics and performance.

Responsibilities

• Oversee driver or laborer safety through safety training, planning, incident reporting, etc.
• Schedule shifts and plan for call-ins/no-shows
• Report department metrics and performance
• Evaluate and perform facility, area, or route visits and assessments
• Assess customer support and problem-solving capabilities
• Respond positively to unpredictable situations or problems

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• 3-5 years of experience as Operations Supervisor, preferably in waste management, manufacturing, or trucking/transportation industries
• Commercial Drivers License (CDL) or willingness to obtain one if supervising drivers
• Strong organizational, written, and verbal communication skills
• Self-starter with strong accountability
• Detailed orientation and upbeat attitude
• Excellent Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, & Outlook software skills
• Ability to perform physical tasks and work in various weather conditions
• Fluency in Spanish is a plus

Qualifications

• Physical demands: Regular standing, occasional sitting, walking, lifting up to 10 pounds
• Environmental factors: Work in all weather conditions
