Supervisor Operations

About the role

The Operations Supervisor oversees all operations within an assigned geographic area, directly supervising drivers and/or laborers. Key responsibilities include ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant operations, managing staff schedules, and addressing issues in real-time.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations within an assigned geographic area
• Directly supervise drivers and/or laborers
• Evaluate and perform facility, area, or route visits and assessments
• Lead and supervise laborers or drivers within the assigned facility or geographical area
• Respond positively to unpredictable situations or problems
• Monitor operational performance and address issues in real-time
• Implement improvements to support overall departmental effectiveness and business objectives

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• Minimum 3 years of experience as Operations Supervisor, preferably from the waste management, manufacturing, or trucking/transportation industry
• Commercial Driver's License (CDL) or willingness to obtain one if supervising drivers
• Strong organizational, written, and verbal communication skills
• Self-starter with a strong level of accountability
• Detailed orientation and upbeat attitude
• Excellent Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, & Outlook software skills
• Ability to perform physical requirements of the job
• Experience with routine maintenance operations
• Fluency in Spanish is a plus

• Sit for prolonged periods
• Use hands and fingers to handle, control, or feel objects, tools, or controls
• Frequent use of hands and arms
• Talk and hear, both in person and by phone or web meetings
• Stand and walk occasionally
• Lift and/or move up to 10 pounds
• Regularly required to use close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
• Work in an office environment with moderate noise levels, in a climate-controlled environment with heating and air conditioning
• May be required to move around the work site and may be exposed to various weather conditions, including extreme heat, cold, rain, and snow
• May be exposed to high noise levels from trucks and machinery while outside typical office setting
