About the role
LRS is seeking an experienced Operations Supervisor to lead and supervise daily operations within an assigned geographic area. This role oversees drivers and/or laborers, ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant operations.
Responsibilities
- Oversee driver or laborer safety including safety training, planning, incident reporting, etc.
- Schedule shifts, plan for call-ins/no-shows, and report department metrics and performance.
- Optimize facilities or routes at all times.
- Proactively evaluate and conduct facility, area, or route visits and assessments.
- Evaluate customer support and problem-solving to address customer issues.
- Respond positively to unpredictable situations or problems.
- Lead and supervise laborers or drivers within the assigned facility or geographical area.
- Establish a motivational tone and maintain a positive work environment.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum 3 years of experience as Operations Supervisor, preferably in waste management, manufacturing, or trucking/transportation industries
- Commercial Driver's License (CDL) or willingness to obtain one if supervising drivers
- Strong organizational, written, and verbal communication skills
- Self-starter with strong accountability
- Detailed orientation and upbeat attitude
- Excellent Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, & Outlook software skills
- Ability to perform physical requirements of the job
- Experience with routine maintenance operations
- Fluency in Spanish is a plus
Physical Demands & Work Environment
- Sit for prolonged periods and work on a computer
- Frequent use of hands and fingers to handle, control, or feel objects, tools, or controls
- Regularly required to talk and hear, both in person and by phone or web meetings
- Occasionally required to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms
- Able to read and interpret data on a computer screen or printed documents
- Work in an office environment with moderate noise levels, in a climate-controlled environment with heating and air conditioning
- May be required to move around the work site and exposed to various weather conditions, including extreme heat, cold, rain, and snow
- May be exposed to high noise levels from trucks and machinery while outside typical office setting
