Supervisor - Laboratory
Provides technical and operational supervision and direction for the clinical laboratory. Maintains established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, safety, environmental and infection control standards so that the laboratory remains in compliance with accreditation and licensing agencies. Assures adequate staffing and provides work direction to include scheduling, evaluations, and counseling. Performs the essential job functions of a Medical Technologist. Provides input for the budgeting process.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical and operational supervision for the clinical laboratory.
- Maintain departmental policies, procedures, objectives, safety, environmental, and infection control standards to ensure compliance with accreditation and licensing agencies.
- Ensure adequate staffing and provide work direction, including scheduling, evaluations, and counseling.
- Perform essential job functions of a Medical Technologist.
- Provide input for the budgeting process.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Sciences, or an appropriately related field, from a regionally accredited college/university.
- Upon hire: Washington Medical Assistant Phlebotomist Certification or National Certification from:
- American Society for Clinical Pathology,
- National Medical Laboratory Technician - American Medical Technologists,
- National Medical Technologist - American Medical Technologists,
- National Laboratory Tech - United States Government.
- 3 years of full-time acceptable clinical laboratory experience in the specialty in the U.S., Canada, or a CAP/The Joint Commission accredited laboratory within the last 6 years. This experience must be acquired post baccalaureate degree and under the supervision of a pathologist (certified by the American Board of Pathology) or an appropriately board-certified medical scientist.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's Degree in Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Sciences, or an appropriately related field, from a regionally accredited college/university.
- 3 years of Hospital Laboratory supervisory experience.

Pay
The pay range for this position is $50.32 - $79.45 per hour. These amounts are the base pay range; additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
