About the role
Routinely supervises other staff and maintains the home's operations in compliance with licensing rules. Assumes full management responsibilities in the absence of the ED/Administrator.
Responsibilities
- Note and report errors in the administration of medications.
- Develop and implement procedures to prevent medication errors.
- Complete necessary forms, charts, and reports.
- Participate in facility surveys/inspections and QA Programs.
- Attend and participate in Care Plan meetings.
- Participate in continuing education programs.
- Follow safety precautions and report hazardous conditions.
- Provide assistance with activities of daily living.
- Work cooperatively with all staff and residents.
- Resolve residents' needs and attend tours of the facility.
- Respond to call lights, alarms, and signaling devices.
- Implement and monitor care plans and medications.
- Maintain a friendly and productive work environment.
- Notify the Director of concerns related to neglect, abuse, or exploitation.
- Report to the Administrator on complaints or grievances.
- Ensure resident confidentiality and rights.
- Avoid and respond to emergencies.
Requirements
- At least 21 years old.
- Minimum of six months of supervisory experience.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Ability to read, write, understand, and follow directions.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry a minimum of 50 pounds.
- Ability to bend, stoop, squat, and reach overhead.
- CPR Certified or willing to become certified within 60 days of hire.
- C.N.A. or Personal Care Aide Certificate (80-Hour) with Personal Care Aide training within 6 months of hire.
- Medication Aide Certificate within 30 days of hire.
- Medication Aide Certification within 60 days of check-off.
- No substantiated findings on the NC Personnel Registry or Health Care Program.
- Clear SBI record.
- Two-step tuberculin skin test (prior to hire and within two weeks of first test).
- Ability to make independent decisions.
- Ability to deal tactfully with various individuals.
- Willingness to work harmoniously with others.
- Ability to relate to and work with the ill, disabled, elderly, emotionally upset, and at times hostile people.
Qualifications
- Must be able to lift, push, pull, and carry a minimum of 50 pounds.
- Must be able to bend, stoop, squat, and reach overhead as needed.
- Must be CPR Certified or willing to become CPR certified within 60 days of hire.
- Must have or obtain C.N.A. or Personal Care Aide Certificate (80-Hour) with Personal Care Aide training within 6 months of hire.
- Must have or obtain 15-Hour Medication Aide Certificate within 30 days of hire.
- Must complete Medication Aide Check off within 30 days of hire.
- Must have or obtain Medication Aide Certification within 60 days of check-off.
- Must have no substantiated findings on the NC Personnel Registry or Health Care Program and maintain during duration of employment.
- Must have a clear SBI record and maintain during duration of employment.
- Must have a two-step tuberculin skin test (first test prior to hire and second test within two weeks of first test).
- Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
- Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel, and the general public.
- Must be able to relate to and work with the ill, disabled, elderly, emotionally upset, and at times hostile people within the community.
- Must maintain resident confidentiality and resident rights at all times.
- Must be available to assist in the evacuation of residents during emergency situations.
