About the role
Routinely supervises other staff and maintains the home's operations in compliance with licensing rules. Assumes full management responsibilities in the absence of the ED/Administrator.
Responsibilities
- Note and report errors in the administration of medications.
- Develop and implement procedures to prevent medication errors.
- Complete necessary forms, charts, and reports.
- Participate in facility surveys/inspections and QA Programs.
- Attend and participate in Care Plan meetings.
- Participate in continuing education programs.
- Follow safety precautions and report hazardous conditions.
- Provide assistance with activities of daily living.
- Work cooperatively with other staff and residents.
- Resolve residents’ needs and attend tours of the facility.
- Respond to call lights, alarms, and signaling devices.
- Implement and monitor care plans and medications.
- Maintain a friendly and productive working relationship.
- Notify the Director of concerns related to neglect, abuse, or exploitation.
- Report to the Administrator on complaints or grievances.
- Perform other duties as required.
Requirements
- At least 21 years old.
- Minimum of six months of supervisory experience.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Able to lift, push, pull, and carry a minimum of 50 pounds.
- Able to bend, stoop, squat, and reach overhead.
- CPR certified or willing to become certified within 60 days.
- C.N.A. or Personal Care Aide Certificate within 6 months of hire.
- Medication Aide Certificate within 30 days of hire.
- Medication Aide Certification within 60 days of check-off.
- No substantiated findings on the NC Personnel Registry or Health Care Program.
- Clear SBI record.
- Two-step tuberculin skin test.
Qualifications
- Ability to make independent decisions.
- Ability to deal tactfully with various individuals.
- Ability to work harmoniously with others.
- Ability to relate to and work with the ill, disabled, elderly, emotionally upset, and hostile people.
- Responsible for maintaining resident confidentiality and rights.
- Available to assist in evacuations during emergencies.
