About the role

Routinely supervises other staff and maintains the home's operations in compliance with licensing rules. Assumes full management responsibilities in the absence of the ED/Administrator.

Responsibilities

  • Note and report errors in the administration of medications.
  • Develop and implement procedures to prevent medication errors.
  • Complete necessary forms, charts, and reports.
  • Participate in facility surveys/inspections and QA Programs.
  • Attend and participate in Care Plan meetings.
  • Participate in continuing education programs.
  • Follow safety precautions and report hazardous conditions.
  • Provide assistance with activities of daily living.
  • Work cooperatively with other staff and residents.
  • Resolve residents’ needs and attend tours of the facility.
  • Respond to call lights, alarms, and signaling devices.
  • Implement and monitor care plans and medications.
  • Maintain a friendly and productive working relationship.
  • Notify the Director of concerns related to neglect, abuse, or exploitation.
  • Report to the Administrator on complaints or grievances.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Requirements

  • At least 21 years old.
  • Minimum of six months of supervisory experience.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Able to lift, push, pull, and carry a minimum of 50 pounds.
  • Able to bend, stoop, squat, and reach overhead.
  • CPR certified or willing to become certified within 60 days.
  • C.N.A. or Personal Care Aide Certificate within 6 months of hire.
  • Medication Aide Certificate within 30 days of hire.
  • Medication Aide Certification within 60 days of check-off.
  • No substantiated findings on the NC Personnel Registry or Health Care Program.
  • Clear SBI record.
  • Two-step tuberculin skin test.

Qualifications

  • Ability to make independent decisions.
  • Ability to deal tactfully with various individuals.
  • Ability to work harmoniously with others.
  • Ability to relate to and work with the ill, disabled, elderly, emotionally upset, and hostile people.
  • Responsible for maintaining resident confidentiality and rights.
  • Available to assist in evacuations during emergencies.
