About the role

As our Imaging Services Supervisor, you will thoughtfully oversee all specialized, administrative, and regulatory operations, ensuring seamless and patient-centered service delivery. Every day, you will champion your team, proactively advocating for their needs, ideas, and concerns directly to leadership. Leveraging your exceptional communication skills, you will adeptly navigate challenging conversations and serve as a dedicated educator, utilizing every interaction to enhance understanding of patient, staff, and organizational needs.

To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate both competence and confidence, effectively managing your team through clear communication, robust performance management, strategic hiring, and comprehensive training initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise daily operations of the assigned hospital to facilitate the safe and appropriate delivery of diagnostic and/or therapeutic patient care, ensure achievement of clinical core measurement scores, and ensure all activities are conducted in a timely and cost-effective manner in compliance with organizational values, professional standards, internal policies, and applicable legal/regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee the resolution of daily clinical, administrative, and operational issues; monitor and troubleshoot service recovery and other escalated concerns, resolving within defined scope of responsibility.
  • Implement and enforce quality control, quality assurance, and productivity standards; ensure applicable standards, systems, and procedures are understood and followed.
  • Monitor and audit related documentation to ensure conformance with established standards for timeliness and accuracy; prepare periodic productivity reports and program updates for review by higher-level authority.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of new clinical systems/programs to enhance existing services and raise the standard of care for the patient population served; produce and present reports on key performance indicators and other significant benchmarking metrics.
  • Schedule, supervise, and evaluate the work of assigned staff in accordance with established procedures; assist in identifying adequate staffing levels for appropriate coverage to meet budgetary and operational objectives.
  • Ensure staff are qualified and properly trained to perform assigned job duties; interview job candidates and make employment and personnel decisions in accordance with established guidelines.
  • Orient employees, hold regular staff meetings, communicate performance standards, assess clinical competency, and evaluate employee performance; provide constructive feedback and recognize results achieved.
  • Participate in performance management activities and resolve technical issues referred by subordinates as beyond their scope of authority.
  • Interpret and monitor compliance with applicable internal/external legal and regulatory agreements, standards, and requirements; stay abreast of changing regulations, professional standards, and competitive industry practices impacting assigned functions.
  • Monitor impact on existing activities and identify/implement effective responses/solutions while maintaining acceptable service levels and work quality.
  • Continuously monitor services, patient outcomes, quality control, family/patient satisfaction, staffing needs, and operational effectiveness to facilitate optimal care delivery; identify trends and opportunities and provide recommendations for new quality/performance improvement initiatives.
  • Implement new processes and ensure performance improvement activities are conducted in a timely and effective manner; ensure staff receive necessary on-site training and consultation to enhance their understanding of quality/performance improvement initiatives.
  • Participate in annual budget planning and administration; monitor work schedules to control overtime and premium pay, approve expenditures within defined scope of responsibility, and explain variances in a timely manner.
  • Inform Director/Manager of all issues with potential budgetary impact.

Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited school of Radiological Technology, sonography, nuclear medicine, or other diagnostic imaging discipline.
  • Five years of related work experience that demonstrates attainment of the requisite job knowledge/abilities, including one year in a “lead” or supervisory capacity.
  • Medical Radiographer: WA license, upon hire.
  • Basic Life Support - CPR certification, upon hire.
