Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise a technical team within the Data & Diagnostics Group, Defense Nuclear Nonproliferation (DNN) Programs within the Global Security Directorate.
- Provide technical and operational oversight for projects related to geologic characterization and advanced geologic modeling, seismic network operations, and advanced seismic modeling in support of Defense Nuclear Nonproliferation objectives.
- Mentor and develop staff, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment that encourages professional growth and technical excellence.
- Cook up and prioritize group activities to ensure timely completion of research, analysis, and field operations, maintaining alignment with program goals and compliance requirements.
- Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders, including Engineering, Operations, Facilities, and National Laboratory partners, to facilitate project planning, execution, and data sharing.
- Represent the Data & Diagnostics Group at meetings, briefings, and scheduling sessions, resolving conflicts and communicating project status and needs.
- Oversee the integration and application of diagnostic technologies and data analytics to enhance seismic monitoring capabilities and geologic assessments.
- Ensure all group activities adhere to safety, security, and quality standards, taking immediate action to address any observed or reported concerns.
- Support the development and review of technical documents, reports, and presentations related to geologic and seismic research.
- Perform other supervisory duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent training and experience, plus a minimum of 8 years of related and progressively responsible experience.
- Bachelor's degree in a geoscience discipline highly preferred.
- Master of Science or Doctorate degree in a geoscience discipline preferred.
- Demonstrated expertise in geologic characterization and modeling, seismic network operations, and data analysis preferred.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with ability to write proposals and develop proposed technical scope.
- Experience working in multidisciplinary teams and collaborating with national laboratories or government agencies.
- Knowledge of safety, security, and quality assurance practices in scientific and field environments.
