SUPERVISOR II
About the role
The Employment Development Department (EDD) seeks a Supervisor II to support the department's mission of strengthening the economic vitality of Californians and their communities. Reporting to the General Counsel, this role oversees and manages the most difficult, sensitive, and complex administrative and analytical tasks.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to the growth of the Legal Office through change management principles and workflow design.
- Ensure the efficient and effective functioning of EDD's Legal Office by managing and overseeing tasks requiring a high degree of independent action, initiative, discretion, confidentiality, and tact.
- Manage and lead a team of professional staff, contributing to strategic planning and workload management.
- Work in a hybrid schedule, with four in-office days and one telework day per week.
Requirements
This position requires a broad range of managerial experience and the ability to handle complex administrative and analytical tasks. Candidates must possess strong management, leadership, and communication skills.
Qualifications
To be considered, candidates must meet the Minimum Qualifications as outlined in the Classification Specification. These qualifications include a bachelor's degree and three years of progressively responsible supervisory experience.
Skills
Strong leadership, strategic planning, and communication skills are essential. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with legal and administrative procedures are also preferred.
Benefits
The position offers a competitive salary range of $7,872.00 - $9,781.00, with the option to work a hybrid schedule of four in-office days and one telework day per week. The position is located at 1416 9th Street, Sacramento, CA, 95814, in the New Labor Agency Building, which offers various amenities including break areas, wellness/lactation rooms, coffee points, a fitness center, and more.
Pay
The starting salary for this position is $7,872.00 per year.
Schedule
The position operates from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.
