Maintenance Supervisor

Position Summary

The Maintenance Supervisor leads a team of technically skilled employees responsible for equipment availability and performance. They perform preventative maintenance and repairs on various manufacturing equipment, develop and maintain maintenance schedules, and support engineering and manufacturing activities.

Essential Functions/Key Deliverables

  • Develop and maintain a constant safety environment and provide necessary training updates while striving for zero incidents and full compliance with OSHA and plant standards.

  • Provide effective supervision, training, and coaching to assigned maintenance employees to achieve equipment uptime, repairs, and production goals.

  • Ensure standard operating procedures and engineering/maintenance procedures are current, accurate, and all work complies with maximum quality standards.

  • Maintain compliance with Environmental, Health & Safety, and Food Safety standards as set forth in plant policies/programs.

  • Resolve technical and machine problems, schedule, monitor, and track preventive maintenance to meet production needs.

  • Manage spare parts inventory and ensure on-site availability for equipment repairs and upgrades.

  • Plan and assist in technical training, support Operation efforts to improve OEE and Spoilage results, enforce safe work practices, and participate in departmental strategic planning.

  • Establish and maintain effective work relationships within the department, the plant, and the company, handling stress and minimizing personal conflicts.

Knowledge/Skills/Experience

  • Associates or bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline or significant experience in a related/similar field.

  • Strong preventive maintenance development experience, based on TPM principles (plus).

  • Must be able to motivate/lead others, deal with ambiguity, have a results-driven mindset, and excellent communication skills.

  • 5 years job-related experience in a food safety manufacturing environment.

  • 2 years supervisory/leadership experience.

  • Able to manage multiple tasks with competing priorities, establish and achieve goals.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office: Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.
