Supervisor I

About the role

The Supervisor I (Sup I) manages and monitors daily fiscal, contract, procurement, and administrative activities essential to accomplishing the mission of the Division of Medi-Cal Fraud and Elder Abuse (DMFEA), California’s federally mandated Medicaid Fraud Control Unit (MFCU). Under the supervision of the DMFEA Supervisor II, the Sup I assists in creating and implementing statewide policies and procedures related to administrative and support operations, working independently with DMFEA management and other departmental staff statewide.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and perform highly complex analyses, internal audits, and studies on management, administrative, financial, budgetary, operational, and organizational issues.
• Independently plan, organize, supervise, and complete complex assignments related to management, performance, and program evaluations.
• Serve as an internal consultant, conducting analyses of operational activities and defining study methodologies using analytical tools and techniques.
• Apply industry standards to perform complex projects, ensuring reliable and fact-based conclusions, and make recommendations to DMFEA Executive Management.
• Represent the Division on specialized and complex subject areas with significant impact on the Division and/or Department.
• Handle the most complex assignments of the unit.

Qualifications

This position requires expertise in fiscal, contract, procurement, and administrative operations, as well as the ability to conduct complex analyses and internal audits. Candidates must demonstrate strong leadership, analytical, and consultative skills.

Pay

$7,172.00 - $8,910.00 per month. New to State candidates will be hired into the minimum salary of the classification or minimum of alternate range when applicable.

Schedule

Permanent, full-time position. Work schedule is Monday through Friday during standard day shift hours. Hybrid telework options are available.
