The Employment Development Department (EDD) is one of the largest State departments with employees at hundreds of service locations. This position is part of the Unemployment Insurance Branch Professional Advancement and Training Headquarters (PATH), focused on redefining how Californians access unemployment, disability, and paid family leave benefits.

As the Training Delivery Services Unit Leader, you will lead the development, modernization, and delivery of training that shapes the future of California’s workforce. This role involves enhancing training services, removing barriers, and simplifying access to support for customers and employees. You will guide a team of analysts through complex projects and collaborate with stakeholders and vendors to implement innovative training solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the Training Delivery Services Unit in modernizing and delivering training programs for California’s unemployment insurance workforce.
  • Orchestrate enhancements to training services, removing barriers and simplifying access for customers and employees.
  • Guide a team of analysts through intricate projects that redefine service delivery.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders and vendors to ensure seamless implementation of training solutions.
  • Champion progress by bringing fresh perspectives and innovative strategies to training initiatives.
  • Drive objectives such as enhanced customer-centric service design, increased self-service opportunities, and improved program delivery through data analytics and employee training.
  • Build a responsive and adaptable system to meet the evolving needs of California’s community.

  • Eligibility for lateral transfer, reinstatement, list or LEAP eligibility, or SROA/Surplus eligibility (priority given to SROA/Surplus candidates).
  • Must meet the Minimum Qualifications stated in the Classification Specification for the SUPERVISOR I classification.

Pay

$7,172.00 - $8,910.00 per month. New to State candidates will be hired into the minimum salary of the classification or minimum of alternate range when applicable.

Effective July 1, 2025, specific Bargaining Units and associated Excluded State employees are subject to a salary reduction between 2% - 4.62% in exchange for hours in the Personal Leave Program 2025 (PLP 2025).

Schedule

  • Work Shift: 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
  • Work Week: Monday - Friday
  • Job Type: 12 Month Limited Term - Full Time
  • Telework: Hybrid (amount of telework is at the discretion of the department and subject to change based on business needs).
