About the role
Under the general direction of the Admin Services Office Chief - Manager I, the Organization & Position Management Branch Chief – Supervisor I will supervise employees handling administrative tasks such as position management, recruitment, personnel operations, exams, and labor relations. The incumbent will set internal policies to align activities with departmental objectives and ensure prompt service to Caltrans work groups. The role requires effective leadership, employee training, self-motivation, teamwork, innovation, and strong rapport-building.

Requirements
- Possession of a valid driver’s license when operating a state-owned or leased vehicle.
- Eligibility for hire may be determined by your score on the Supervisor I exam. New or non-current state civil service employees must be on the state examination list.
- Possession of Minimum Qualifications will be verified prior to interview and/or appointment. If basing eligibility on education, include unofficial transcript(s)/diploma for verification.
- Applicants with foreign transcripts/degrees must provide a U.S. equivalency report from a NACES or AICE evaluation agency.
Qualifications
A Statement of Qualifications (SOQ) is required. The SOQ must:
- Be typed, no more than two pages in length, using 12-point Arial font.

Pay
$7,172.00 - $8,910.00 per month. New to State candidates will be hired into the minimum salary of the classification or minimum of alternate range when applicable.
Schedule
Permanent, Full Time. Hybrid telework arrangement.
