Duties and Responsibilities
- Conduct routine and targeted file reviews to verify adherence to HUD requirements, agency policies, and standard operating procedures. Monitor data accuracy and address compliance deficiencies.
- Direct the daily work of assigned staff, providing coaching, training, and guidance. Evaluate performance, develop performance improvement plans, and administer corrective actions as needed.
- Track workloads and production metrics to ensure performance expectations and contractual standards are consistently met or exceeded.
- Assess program workflows and practices to identify opportunities for improving efficiency, accuracy, and service delivery. Recommend and support implementation of process enhancements.
- Serve as an escalation point for participants, landlords, and clients, ensuring issues are handled professionally and resolved appropriately.
- Review, verify, and approve staff timesheets and other required administrative documentation.
- Ensures full compliance with assigned SEMAP indicators.
- Provides leadership and direction in establishing program goals, objectives, and policies.
- Plans strategies specific to the area of supervision.
- Investigates and resolves problems involved in the management of the program specific to the areas of supervision.
- Makes suggestions for procedure and process efficiencies and streamlining.
- Advises the leadership of the status and needs of the program(s).
- Writes and prepares weekly, monthly and annual reports.
- Develops recommendations for improvement of operations and implements such improvements within delegated authority.
Qualifications
- Two years of responsible experience in the management of assisted and affordable housing programs, including at least one year of supervisory experience, and a bachelor's degree in business, public administration, or a related field. Other combinations of experience and education that meet the minimum requirements may be substituted.
- Experience working within a housing authority, affordable housing, or multifamily housing environment preferred.
- Comprehensive understanding of HUD regulations and compliance standards.
- Strong knowledge of housing program operations.
- Proven leadership and staff management capabilities.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent analytical and organizational abilities.
- Able to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Must obtain required certifications within specified timelines.
- Proficiency in written and spoken English is required to effectively communicate with customers, team members, and management.
- Professional working proficiency in Spanish/Creole a plus.
