About the role
WestCoast Children's Clinic, a non-profit community psychology clinic, provides mental health services to Bay Area children, youth, and families. The position involves overseeing, training, and evaluating pre-licensed trainees and early-career practitioners who provide community-based mental health services to at-risk youth.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct supervision for clinicians, including MSWs, MFTs, interns, and other mental health professionals, with in-person supervision as program needs require.
- Offer consultation and support for crises and complex clinical situations, including occasional after-hours Pacific Time availability.
- Review, approve, and co-sign clinical documentation to ensure compliance with WCC standards and legal/ethical requirements.
- Provide regular feedback on staff performance, timeliness, caseload management, and supervision effectiveness.
- Deliver direct client services as needed to address gaps in care.
- Complete 90-day and annual performance evaluations for supervisees.
- Collaborate with Program Directors on crossover client care coordination and maintain timely communication.
- Facilitate weekly group case conferences and participate in required meetings, trainings, team-building activities, and community events.
- Ensure compliance with WestCoast policies and applicable regulations from licensing boards, accrediting bodies, and funding agencies.
- Identify training needs and support staff development in service delivery, documentation, charting, record-keeping, and caseload management.
- Assist supervisees in setting and achieving professional development goals.
- Foster a collaborative, healthy team environment aligned with the team-based care model.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- CA Licensed (required), LCSW preferred
- Minimum of 3 years clinical experience post licensure expected
- Minimum of 2 years experience as a supervisor of clinical work
- Demonstrated experience working with and/or supervising work with sexually exploited, high risk and transition aged foster youth
- Demonstrated experience providing and/or supervising community-based mental health treatment
- Demonstrated clinical experience with foster care, child protective services, juvenile justice, community mental health, and/or community psychology models
- Experienced in providing psychological services to clients who have complex, multiple diagnosis histories
- Experienced in providing parent support and family therapy to adolescents and their families, particularly those involved in the juvenile justice system, foster care, group home or residential treatment settings.

- Knowledge of child and adolescent development, trauma, chemical dependency, dual diagnosis, domestic violence and sexually exploited minors
- Competent in working with psychological issues related to diversity, including race, ethnicity, socioeconomic status, immigration, language, sexual orientation, gender, and other identity variables.
- Collaboration and team functioning - able to work independently and collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team, able to proactively collaborate with other supervisors and program directors to ensure the best possible training for supervisees and service delivery for clients

- Excellent interpersonal, communication and writing skills
- Knowledge of or ability to learn Medi-Cal reimbursement procedures and billing
