Program Supervisor, Patient Services
About the role
The Supervisor, Patient Services oversees and manages the intake teams responsible for triaging calls, facilitating enrollment, and conducting benefits investigations. Key responsibilities include planning and implementing operational strategies, improving systems and processes, meeting quality goals, building relationships with business partners, and providing development and management support to associates.
Responsibilities
- Strong leadership, coordination, scheduling, recruiting, communication, staff development, project leadership, and process re-design responsibilities.
- Selects, hires, leads, and develops departmental associates; provides training, feedback, and development opportunities; coaches associates to ensure their success; manages performance.
- Collaborates with call center management staff to execute programs for conversion, compliance, and adherence.
- Coordinates and manages special projects, often requiring cross-functional collaboration.
- Presents to external audiences (primarily healthcare providers and insurers).
Requirements
- Education and experience: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience including supervisory or applicable professional leadership experience. Without a bachelor's degree, applicable professional leadership experience must highlight the ability to lead, motivate, and interact in a telephone-focused team setting.
- Experience: 3-5 years of financial assistance, 1-3 years of specialty pharmacy or pharmacy insurance experience, and 3-5 years of supervisor or lead experience.
- Knowledge: Professional level knowledge of customer care techniques and processes, in-depth understanding of insurance plans and benefit structures, and involvement in or management of special projects in a call center or similar environment.
