Core Functions
- Selects, develops, and trains employees throughout the employee life cycle through timely selection, ongoing feedback, coaching/mentoring, and promoting continuing education.
- Recommends pay adjustments and administers performance reviews within established time frames.
- Oversees orientation and training for both new and incumbent employees.
- Operates assigned business unit in a cost effective manner.
- Maintains appropriate staffing levels with minimum necessary overtime and usage of per diem employees.
- Ensures minimal employee turnover and tracks supply usage and orders as needed.
- Affirms budgeting operating and human resource expenses and monitors financial activities of the business unit.
- Ensures that assigned locations are functioning effectively and that service levels are maintained and enhanced.
- Promotes the organization within the community through effective and professional communications with physicians, clients, and internal customers with an emphasis on teamwork and customer satisfaction.
- Identifies and resolves service issues using Six Sigma and Lean work flow principles.
- Champions safety initiatives within the business unit.
- Captivates facilities management for the assigned business unit through negotiation with vendors and by working with contractors, landlords, clients, and account managers.
Supervisory Responsibilities
- Hires, trains, conducts performance management, evaluations, and directs the workflow for the staff.
Physical Demands/Environment Factors
- Able to stand, walk, bend, squat, reach, and stretch frequently.
- Possess physical agility and adequate reaction time to respond quickly and appropriately to unexpected patient care needs.
- Needs adequate hearing and visual acuity, including adequate color vision.
- Requires fine motor skills, adequate eye-hand coordination, and ability to grasp and handle objects.
- Able to use proper body mechanics to assist patients in ambulating, transferring in and out of bed, chair or wheelchair.
- May be required to lift up to 75 pounds.
- Must use standard precautions due to threat of exposure to blood and bodily fluids.
- Able to communicate effectively.
- May require periodic use of personal computer.
