Program Supervisor, Patient Services
About the role
The Supervisor, Patient Services oversees and manages the intake teams responsible for triaging calls, facilitating enrollment, and conducting benefits investigations. Key responsibilities include planning and implementing operational strategies, improving systems and processes, meeting quality goals, building relationships with business partners, and providing development and management support for employees.
Responsibilities
- Leadership and coordination of operational service center strategies
- Improving systems and processes to meet and exceed quality goals
- Establishing relationships with business partners
- Providing development and management support to employees
- Selecting, hiring, leading, and developing departmental associates
- Training, giving feedback, and offering development opportunities to associates
- Coaching associates to ensure their success
- Managing performance of associates
- Collaborating with call center management staff to execute programs for conversion, compliance, and adherence
- Coordinating and managing special projects, often cross-functional
- Presenting to external audiences, primarily healthcare providers and insurers
Requirements
- Education and experience: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience including supervisory or applicable professional leadership experience. Without a bachelor's degree, applicable professional leadership experience must highlight the ability to lead, motivate, and interact in a telephone-focused team setting.
- Specific type of experience: 3-5 years of financial assistance, 1-3 years of specialty pharmacy or pharmacy insurance, and 3-5 years of supervisor or lead experience.
- Knowledge: Professional level knowledge of customer care techniques and processes, in-depth understanding of insurance plans and benefit structures, and involvement in or management of special projects in a call center or similar environment.
