Job Description

Position Responsibilities

• Ensures staff is trained and competent before assignment to a particular position.
• Keeps documentation of employee's performance to use during evaluation and counseling.
• Enforces disciplinary actions and provides accurate and complete documentation.
• Maintains efficiency of job tasks and offers suggestions.
• Monitors employees' attendance and punctuality.
• Follows up on any problems related to security, safety and/or sanitation.
• Competent in scheduling of employees based on census, minimizes overtime, and informs subordinate when adjustments are made to posted schedules.
• Always starts the patient trayline on time.
• Quality of food is checked for taste, temperature and portion size.
• Ensures that cleaning procedures are followed.
• Enforces proper dress code and proper use of gloves, aprons, and hair restrains.
• Enforces appropriate food handling procedures to ensure food safety.
• Maintains accuracy of patient trays and floor stock supply delivery.
• Maintains refrigerators/freezers for proper food storage (wrapping, labeling, dating).
• Reports safety hazards and defective equipment immediately.
• Maintains accurate and a complete documentation of temperature logs, floor stock supply, and other reports.

• Licenses/Registrations/Certifications: Not applicable
• Education: High School Diploma or GED preferred
• Experience: 3 - 4 years of hospital food service experience preferred
