Job Description
Position Responsibilities
- Ensures staff is trained and competent before assignment to a particular position.
- Keeps documentation of employee's performance to use during evaluation and counseling.
- Enforces disciplinary actions and provides accurate and complete documentation.
- Maintains efficiency of job tasks and offers suggestions.
- Monitors employees' attendance and punctuality.
- Follows up on any problems related to security, safety and/or sanitation.
- Competent in scheduling of employees based on census, minimizes overtime, and informs subordinate when adjustments are made to posted schedules.
- Always starts the patient trayline on time.
- Quality of food is checked for taste, temperature and portion size.
- Ensures that cleaning procedures are followed.
- Enforces proper dress code and proper use of gloves, aprons, and hair restrains.
- Enforces appropriate food handling procedures to ensure food safety.
- Maintains accuracy of patient trays and floor stock supply delivery.
- Maintains refrigerators/freezers for proper food storage (wrapping, labeling, dating).
- Reports safety hazards and defective equipment immediately.
- Maintains accurate and a complete documentation of temperature logs, floor stock supply, and other reports.

- Licenses/Registrations/Certifications: Not applicable
- Education: High School Diploma or GED preferred
- Experience: 3 - 4 years of hospital food service experience preferred
