About the role

The position is located within the Cafeteria Status department of Advocate Health, offering full-time benefits eligibility. The schedule includes AM and PM shifts with rotating weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

  • Adheres to hospital and departmental policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrates personal responsibility and commitment to customer service.
  • Maintains a 97% or better sanitation rating from the Health Department.
  • Ensures Sodexo standards are met consistently.
  • Maintains a double gold rating from NSF.
  • Monitors quality of product at stations, ensures recipe compliance, and adheres to departmental guidelines.
  • Works as a team player and supports other Food and Nutrition Services departments.
  • Supports diversity through cultural awareness and special menus.
  • Attends CPM meetings.
  • Minimizes product waste and controls costs.
  • Completes daily cleaning list and in-service training.
  • Follows HACCP documentation and guidelines.
  • May be asked to perform additional responsibilities.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent with five years' experience in a food service environment.
  • ServSafe certification required.
  • Able to operate various cooking equipment and follow recipes.
  • Desire to achieve high customer service standards.
  • Ability to work weekends and holidays.
  • Communicate with a wide variety of people including patients, visitors, hospital staff, and managers.
  • Understand hospital diets (ground, chopped, and puree diets).

Skills

  • Fluent in English.
  • Able to follow instructions.
  • Works under general supervision.
  • Able to operate various cooking equipment and adjust recipes according to volume.
  • Able to withstand large temperature variances.
  • Able to communicate with a wide variety of people.
  • Desire to achieve high customer service standards.
  • Ability to work weekends and holidays.
  • Understands hospital diets (ground, chopped, and puree diets).

Pay

Base compensation listed within the listed pay range based on factors such as qualifications, skills, relevant experience, and/or training. Premium pay such as shift, on-call, and more based on a teammate's job. Opportunity for annual increases based on performance.
