Supervisor Food and Nutritional Services
About the Role
As a Supervisor Food and Nutritional Services with Medical City Dallas, you will monitor employee attendance for timeliness and accrual of incremental overtime using KRONOS on a daily basis. You will direct, monitor, and participate in the overall sanitation and safety of the department and employees in accordance with company standards and regulatory agencies (TJC and Health Department).
Additional responsibilities include:
- Preparing work schedules based on the FPC and revising as needed based on PLUS and the census
- Assisting in the completion of 90-day competencies, performance feedback & evaluations, and coaching/disciplinary counseling for all employees
- Training and mentoring new employees & dietetic interns to ensure consistent training on policies, procedures, and equipment
- Taking appropriate corrective action for equipment repairs and adjusting procedures as indicated
- Demonstrating knowledge of special dietary restrictions and food handling techniques for various patient populations
- Serving as a role model and advocate for AIDET, Patient Promise, and Medical City’s 6 Keys
- Assisting with training of students and interns
- Effectively supervising staff, including hiring, counseling, coaching, and development
- Appropriately documenting all staff records, such as annual evaluations and disciplinary processes
- Serving as a resource for community and hospital-wide public speaking events
- Performing other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Associate’s Degree in Nutrition and Dietetics or equivalent is preferred
- 3 years of food service management experience is preferred, particularly in a high-volume restaurant, hospital, hotel, or room service environment
- Registered Food Service Manager (RFSM) or Food Safety Manager certification must be obtained within 1 year of employment start date
