About the role
We are recruiting for a Food & Nutrition Services Supervisor to join our team at LewisGale Medical Center. This role involves supervising diet office and patient food service personnel in a healthcare setting that values respectful, compassionate care.
Responsibilities
- Supervise all patient food service activities, including patient tray line, diet office, floor stock, and reprocessing operations.
- Maintain and improve standards of food service.
- Assist in maintaining and improving patient food service procedures.
- Ensure department areas, equipment, and machinery are set up to work at appropriate levels.
- Evaluate patient menu selections and make adjustments within diet order guidelines and patient preferences.
- Inspect trays for 100% accuracy on the tray line.
Requirements
- Vocational or technical education required.
- Previous supervisory food service experience, preferably 2 years in a hospital, nursing care facility, or related medical facility.
- Food safety knowledge required.
- Computer skills necessary.
Skills
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to multitask, especially during peak times.
