Supervisor – Customs Brokerage OperationsPosition DetailsTitle: Supervisor – Customs Brokerage OperationsLocation: Roselle, ILCompensation: $100,000Position SummaryWe are seeking an experienced and hands-on Supervisor to oversee daily Customs Brokerage operations while supporting entry processing, regulatory compliance, and team coordination.This role is ideal for a Licensed U.S. Customs Broker who has a strong background in customs brokerage operations and enjoys balancing leadership responsibilities with hands-on entry work. The Import Manager will serve as a technical resource for the brokerage team, ensuring customs entries are processed accurately, efficiently, and in full compliance with U.S. Customs regulations.Key ResponsibilitiesCustoms Brokerage OperationsManage day-to-day customs brokerage operations to ensure timely, accurate, and compliant processing of import entries.Participate in preparing and filing customs entries as business needs require.Review entry documentation for completeness, accuracy, and regulatory compliance prior to submission.Monitor customs entry activity and ensure shipments are processed efficiently.Regulatory ComplianceEnsure compliance with U.S. Customs regulations, import requirements, and applicable Partner Government Agency (PGA) regulations.Monitor and resolve U.S. Customs rejections, Requests for Information (RFIs), and other compliance issues.Communicate regulatory updates and changes affecting import operations.Maintain high standards of trade compliance and operational accuracy.Team Leadership & DevelopmentProvide guidance and technical support to Entry Writers and brokerage staff.Assist with training, mentoring, and developing team members.Coordinate workflow and assign work to maintain balanced productivity across the team.Support management in maintaining best practices and operational consistency.Process ImprovementAssist in developing and maintaining Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).Identify opportunities to improve workflow, efficiency, and service quality.Partner with leadership on operational improvement initiatives and process enhancements.Promote continuous improvement across customs brokerage operations.Customer Service & CommunicationCollaborate with internal teams to ensure excellent customer service.Support clients by helping resolve customs-related issues promptly and professionally.Maintain effective communication with internal departments regarding shipment status, compliance matters, and operational priorities.QualificationsRequiredActive U.S. Customs Broker License (LCB) required.5+ years of Customs Brokerage Operations experience.Strong knowledge of U.S. Customs regulations, import procedures, and trade compliance.Experience reviewing customs entries for accuracy and compliance.Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.Strong written and verbal communication skills.Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.PreferredPrevious experience supervising, mentoring, or leading Entry Writers.Experience developing or improving operational workflows and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).Bachelor's degree preferred but not required.
