Position Overview
The Bar Supervisor is responsible for leading and supporting all bar operations before, during, and after events. This position provides direction to bartenders, bar backs, and cocktail servers while ensuring compliance with all Craft Culinary Concepts policies and applicable state and local alcohol service laws. The Bar Supervisor plays a critical role in delivering exceptional guest service, maintaining operational efficiency, and maximizing beverage sales.
Essential Job Functions
- Supervise bartenders, bar backs, and cocktail servers before, during, and after events.
- Maintain proper setup, stocking, and operational readiness of all assigned club-level bars prior to guest arrival.
- Maintain oversight of bar operations throughout events to ensure efficient service, cleanliness, and compliance with company standards.
- Enforce all Craft Culinary Concepts alcohol service policies, procedures, and applicable state and local regulations.
- Maximize beverage sales by coaching staff, maintaining efficient service, and promoting an exceptional guest experience.
- Manage bar inventory, including product counts, transfers between bar locations, and reconciliation of all alcoholic beverage inventory.
- Work closely with the Liquor Coordinator to coordinate staffing levels, product distribution, and operational needs.
- Ensure all bar staff adhere to company policies, safety procedures, and responsible alcohol service practices.
- Assist in resolving guest concerns and support bar staff in maintaining a professional, service-oriented environment.
- Complete all required reports and communicate operational issues to management as needed.
Minimum Qualifications
- At least 18 years of age.
- Valid alcohol certification (TEAM or TIPS Certification preferred).
- Valid Maricopa County Food Handler Card and on file with Craft Culinary Concepts.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Strong knowledge of beer, wine, spirits, standard drink recipes, and bar terminology.
- Ability to maintain discretion and protect confidential guest information.
- Successfully complete all pre-employment paperwork, background check, and math assessment involving U.S. currency.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced team environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel.
- Working knowledge of POS systems, two-way radios, soda dispensing systems, and draft beer equipment is preferred.
- Previous supervisory experience in a high-volume restaurant, bar, stadium, arena, or similar entertainment venue is preferred.
Physical Requirements
- Regularly lift and carry up to 60 pounds.
- Stand and walk for extended periods throughout scheduled shifts.
- Bend, reach, climb stairs, and maneuver through crowded or confined work areas.
- Work evenings, weekends, holidays, and other non-traditional hours based on event schedules.
- Work in varying temperatures and high-noise environments.
