About the Role

Under the direction of the Chief Nurse Executive (CNE) or the Supervising Registered Nurse (SRN) III, Correctional Facility (CF), the SRN II, CF is responsible for planning, assigning, supervising, and evaluating the work of assigned staff. The role oversees staff in the mental health (MH) service line delivery area and those providing psychiatric nursing care and treatment to patients with mental disorders and/or developmentally disabled patients in accordance with Title 22 regulations.

The SRN II, CF must comply with Title 15 Regulations, applicable Government Codes, California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR) Department Operations Manual, and California Correctional Health Care Services (CCHCS) Local Operating Procedures. Responsibilities include implementing and monitoring adherence to policies and procedures, resolving personnel issues, setting goals, and ensuring continuity of quality patient care.

This role actively participates in and supports the Complete Care Model, prepares staff for accreditations, audits, and visits from regulatory bodies such as the Prison Law Office, the Department of Public Health, and court monitors/stakeholders associated with Coleman, Armstrong, and other related mental health class members.

Responsibilities

• Plan, assign, supervise, and evaluate the work of assigned nursing and support staff.
• Oversee mental health service line delivery and psychiatric nursing care for patients with mental disorders or developmental disabilities.
• Ensure compliance with Title 15 Regulations, Government Codes, CDCR policies, and CCHCS procedures.
• Disseminate, implement, and monitor adherence to policies and procedures.
• Resolve personnel issues and set performance goals for self and staff.
• Support the Complete Care Model and prepare staff for accreditations, audits, and regulatory visits.
• Maintain continuity of quality patient care in the Psychiatric Inpatient Program (PIP).

Schedule

This is a part-time position working 20 hours per week.

Pay

The monthly part-time salary range for this position is $5,802 to $7,263.

Effective July 1, 2025, the Personal Leave Program 2025 (PLP 2025) requires a 3% base salary reduction for full-time employees in Bargaining Unit 17 and related categories, with 5 PLP 2025 leave credits provided monthly through June 2027. Part-time and permanent intermittent employees are subject to these conditions on a prorated basis.
