Responsibilities

  • Participate in Teller training and service customers on the Teller Line
  • Engage in Platform training and shadow Platform employees during lead calling, profiling, and account opening
  • Shadow Branch Managers or Business Development Officers on outside business calls
  • Attend and observe Workplace Banking presentations
  • Interact with FNB business partners, including Private Banking, Treasury Management, Wealth/Brokerage, and Business Banking
  • Engage with Retail leadership, including Regional Banking Executives and Market Managers
  • Participate in FNB-related events and trainings scheduled for all Summer Interns

Learning Objectives

  • Gain hands-on experience in a dynamic and innovative organization while learning about the financial services industry
  • Work directly with assigned business leaders and professionals on various projects and assignments

Position Overview

As an intern at F.N.B., you will experience daily applications of finance or economics coursework, observe how banks meet the needs of businesses and consumers, enhance leadership skills with high-performing executives, and learn key differentiators of F.N.B. in the marketplace. You will also gain insights into interest rates, financial drivers, credit skills, portfolio health, and complex regulatory compliance issues. Possible positions span support areas such as Finance, Marketing, HR, Project Management, and Accounting.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Learn aggressively: Be open to new ideas and concepts; ask questions and be intellectually curious. Examples include understanding organizational structures, business etiquette, interpersonal/conflict resolution/sales/negotiation skills, industry information, products and services, and functional responsibilities for various Bank departments.
  • Analyze: Improve decision-making quality through thorough analysis. Examples include pricing decisions, financial analysis, qualitative analysis, credit risk mitigation, identifying borrowing needs, project timelines, and marketing plans.
  • Communicate well: Deliver information clearly and effectively in writing and orally, adapting style for one-on-one, small group, and large-group settings. Examples include business meetings, sales calls, training sessions, email communication, and conference calls.
  • Display Teamwork: Collaborate effectively to achieve group goals, leveraging others' experiences for improved results. Examples include department or intern projects.
  • Get Results: Be accountable and responsible for your work output, managing risk while pursuing innovative solutions. Examples include meeting deadlines, delivering quality output on time and under budget, and adapting to improve outcomes.
  • Compliance/Integrity: Follow all company policies and procedures, meet legal and regulatory requirements, complete required trainings on time, and work with appropriate oversight to complete projects. Serve as a risk manager by understanding, reporting, and managing risks encountered daily. Understand and adhere to F.N.B. Corporation’s risk management program and regulatory compliance requirements.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED
  • Officially enrolled in an undergraduate bachelor’s program with a major in Finance, Accounting, Marketing, or Information Technology
