About the Role

Within the Human Resources Segment, interns gain exposure to a wide variety of areas within the business. Students partner directly with professionals within their area of focus to contribute to meaningful projects and initiatives while developing knowledge of specific Human Resources area of expertise. Opportunities for rising seniors are available within the Talent Acquisition, People Analytics, and HR Business Partner areas. Opportunities for a rising junior are available within the Talent Management space. Successful candidates are curious, collaborative, and interested in learning more about careers in Human Resources.

Program Structure

Huntington's internship programs provide emerging talent with meaningful, hands-on experience aligned to their area of study. Over the course of the interns' time at Huntington, they gain exposure to key business functions across all segments of the organization. An intern's experience should be focused on professional growth, skill development, and practical application of academic learning. Interns participate in a structured series of development opportunities, including interactions with senior leadership and career pathing insights. The experience also includes immersion in Huntington's award-winning culture through community involvement and team-based activities. Internships at Huntington are designed to help students build a strong foundation for future career success while contributing to meaningful business initiatives.

Foundations Program (Rising juniors - Winter 2028 or Spring 2029 grads): An 8-week, regionally focused experience where students partner directly with a manager and team, contribute to meaningful projects, build professional skills, and explore career opportunities across Huntington and the financial services industry.

Enterprise Internship Program (Rising seniors - Winter 2027 or Spring 2028 grads): An 11-week, role-aligned experience where students work directly with a manager and team on meaningful business initiatives. In addition to hands-on project work, participants gain exposure to executive leadership, participate in Huntington's innovation project, and build connections that may lead to future full-time opportunities.

Program Components

  • Experience in day-to-day responsibilities related to their assigned team

  • Discussions with senior leaders regarding career paths and Huntington's business areas
  • A team project focused on applying Huntington's innovation framework to a business-relevant problem

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Collaborate directly with your manager

  • Aptitude - proficiency with computer software, particularly the Microsoft Office Suite

Qualifications

  • High School graduate
  • Enrolled in an Undergraduate or Graduate accredited University with at least one quarter/semester of school after the completion of the summer program
  • Demonstrated teamwork and leadership through extracurricular activities and/or work experience
  • Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and relationship building skills
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications

Preferred Qualifications

  • Course(s) of study applicable to the area of business
  • Ability to maintain professional composure in a dynamic work environment that often requires management and completion of multiple tasks
  • Demonstrate sound judgment and ability to apply logical/critical thought processes when developing solutions
  • Ability to display a positive business presence with management and external personnel
  • A strong interest in Banking as a career
  • Relevant Majors: Human Capital Management, Human Resources, Psychology, general business degrees. Data degrees in the People Analytics space
  • Preferred Skills & Interests: Interest in general human resources, talent, and people analytics

Workplace Type

Office. Certain positions outside our branch network may be eligible for a flexible work arrangement. We're combining the best of both worlds: in-office and work from home. Our approach enables our teams to deepen connections, maintain a strong community, and do their best work. Remote roles will also have the opportunity to come together in our offices for moments that matter. Specific work arrangements will be provided by the hiring team.

Pay

$21.00 - $25.00 Hourly. Colleagues in Intern positions are eligible for paid holidays and Huntington's retirement savings plan.
