Summer 2027 Consulting Internship - Medicaid Policy

$30/hrVolunteer

About the role

BerryDunn is seeking a Consulting Intern to join our Medicaid Practice Group focused on supporting clients at the intersection of Health Policy and Medicaid. You will join a team that helps communities thrive by driving forward their policy priorities. As a success partner to state Medicaid agencies, this team works to interpret vague policy language and deal with ambiguity while keeping the goals of our clients at the forefront.

During your internship, you will partner with your supervisor and other experienced team members to grow personally and professionally. This internship provides the opportunity to become familiar with a consulting firm, its systems, operations, and client relationships. You will be immersed in dynamic, in-person learning and get to connect with other interns while experiencing the company culture firsthand.

This summer internship is based at our office in Kapolei, HI. Upon successful completion of the internship, and depending on business need, we offer ongoing employment opportunities with remote or hybrid options serving clients across the nation.

Internship session: May 25, 2027 to August 6, 2027.

To be considered, you must include your unofficial academic transcript with your application.

Responsibilities

  • Engage in a supportive team environment to gain an understanding of consulting.
  • Support one or more client projects with work such as written communication and analysis, along with activities like supporting client meetings, managing action items, and tracking and reporting on project progress.
  • Focus on your own development with your supervisor through learning objectives that align with BerryDunn’s consulting competencies.
  • Participate in new business development through activities such as research, supporting proposal content, or developing marketing materials.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in a BA/BS/MS Degree in Public Policy, Health Management, or Public Health.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future.
  • Relevant work experience in your field is a plus.
  • Demonstrated experience in relationship building and teamwork.
  • Excellent writing, communication, and computer skills.
  • Drive and initiative.
  • Willingness to travel.

Pay

The hourly rate for this role is $30 per hour. This rate range represents BerryDunn’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the possible compensation at the time of posting. If an applicant possesses experience, education, or other qualifications more than the minimum requirements for this posting, that applicant is encouraged to apply, and a final rate may then be based on those additional qualifications. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.
