Substitute Teacher - Certified
This is a substitute position, district-wide (PreK–12), reporting to the building principal.

Duties and Responsibilities
- Able to organize and prioritize daily schedule and duties
- Manage the classroom in a positive manner and keep students engaged, on task, and collaborative
- Perform any other duties as assigned by a Supervisor / Administration
Requirements
- Certified preferred — please send proof of certification
- Minimum one year college completed for non-certified applicants
- Must be fingerprinted per NYSED procedures
Pay
The pay scale for per diem substitute teachers is as follows: $130.00 per full day for a non-certified person (*includes teaching assistants). Limitations apply for length of employment of uncertified teachers as per the Codes, Rules and Regulations for the State of NY Title 8 CRR-NY 8-5.4.
Certified teachers rate per chart below. Certified means that the substitute has a valid certificate to teach in the public schools of New York State. For continuous service in the same assignment the following shall apply*:
- 0 – 29 days: $145.00 per day
- 30 – 89 days: $155.00 per day
- 90 plus days: Step BA-2/MA-2 on current salary schedule
1 day = 1.0 FTE. Days will be prorated based on FTE. $155.00 per day for retired teachers with at least 20 years of verifiable NYS teaching experience.
