About the role

The Digitization Lab is located in Bizzell Memorial Library. The lab focuses on high-quality digitization of cultural heritage materials from OU Libraries' History of Science Collections, Western History Collections, Bass Business History Collection, and others.

Responsibilities

  • Work independently in a team and project-based environment to digitize diverse special collections items and other materials.
  • Perform post-processing work and metadata entry.
  • Prepare items for online digital collections.
  • Encounter materials including rare books, manuscript collections, theses, and maps.
  • Receive initial training and ongoing skill development from the department.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in the Fall semester as a student in good standing at the University of Oklahoma.
  • Must attach Fall 2026 class schedule as applicable.

Qualifications

  • Effective communication in written and oral English.
  • Good computer skills and familiarity with Mac OS and Windows.
  • Ability to learn and use new technology and software.
  • Detail-oriented task completion ability.
  • Minimum of 12 hours per week, hours of operation 9:00 am to 5:00 pm Monday through Friday.

Pay

Pay Range: $11.00 per hour

Schedule

Work Schedule: Variable, Minimum of 12 hrs per week; hours of operation 9:00 am to 5:00 pm Monday through Friday
