About the role
The Student Care and Accountability Coordinator provides comprehensive support for student behavior, conduct, and well-being. This role serves as a hearing officer, adjudicates student conduct cases, co-leads and coordinates the Student Conduct Hearing Board, and actively supports the College’s Care Team. The coordinator manages Maxient workflows and case processes, triages student conduct complaints and concerns, and leads campus-wide marketing, programming, and training initiatives related to student conduct and conflict education.
Responsibilities
- Manages the College’s non-academic student conduct process
- Coordinates individual and organizational conduct cases
- Implements a comprehensive educational approach to help community members understand their individual and collective rights and responsibilities
- Develops and expands educational programming focused on conflict resolution, student skill-building, and restorative practices
- Employ equity-minded best practices in student conduct and conflict education case management
- Addresses student well-being and behavioral concerns across the College and connects students with appropriate services and resources
- Develops and implements college-wide policies, procedures, training, and educational initiatives related to student behavior and student support
- Serves as a designated independent, neutral, and confidential resource to assist students in conflict management and resolution through informal methods such as consultation, negotiation, and mediation
- Supports the cultivation of a safe, inclusive, fair, and caring educational community that promotes learning and personal development
Qualifications
- Multiple years of experience in a student conduct, care, and accountability center, educational administration, or related area
- Experience managing staff and overseeing operations
- Demonstrated understanding of and a commitment to: the community college mission and purpose; teaching and learning; high academic standards; and student success
- Knowledge and experience using integrated software systems and Microsoft applications
- Skilled in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with students, faculty/staff, and the public
- Student development theory and its practical application
- Current trends and literature in case management (preferred)
- Higher education principles, practices, procedures, and student affairs best practices
- Student conduct administration, crisis response, and non-clinical case management
- Demonstrated knowledge of statutory and regulatory compliance (e.g., Clery Act, FERPA, Title IX, Tittle VI, VAWA, Drug-Free Schools and Communities Act, Stop Campus Hazing Act)

- Skilled in monitoring and evaluating programs, identifying gaps, and implementing improvements
- Strong interviewing and investigative skills with systematic information gathering and documentation
- Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 and experienced with secure databases and student information systems
- Ability to use standard office equipment and conduct/case management systems to support operations

- Strong commitment to maintaining confidentiality and exercising discretion in handling sensitive information, while maintaining professionalism and neutrality
- Demonstrated ability to develop and facilitate trainings, presentations, and educational programs to diverse audiences
- Willingness and ability to travel and work across multiple campus locations as needed
