Structural Steel Tekla Detailer

About the role

Atlantic Constructors is seeking an experienced Structural Steel Tekla Detailer to join their team. This role plays a key role in producing high-quality structural steel fabrication drawings.

Essential Functions

• Create detailed 3D models and fabrication drawings for assigned projects using Tekla Structures
• Interpret structural and architectural drawings, specifications, and design intent
• Produce shop drawings, erection drawings, material take-offs, generate BOMs/NC files, follow company drawing standards and QA checklists
• Cook up with senior detailers, engineers, project managers, and shop personnel to ensure accuracy and efficiency
• Review and check drawings for quality, completeness, and compliance with project standards
• Manage revisions and updates throughout the project lifecycle
• Aid in resolving design and fabrication issues

Required Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience as a Tekla Detailer (structural steel)
• Advanced proficiency in Tekla Structures
• Strong knowledge of AISC, or relevant industry standards
• Experience with clash detection and coordination
• Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities

Preferred Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience as a Tekla Detailer (structural steel)
• Experience working with fabrication shops or on-site construction teams
• Familiarity with BIM workflows and integration

Pay

Final compensation will be determined based on applicable experience, education, licensure, skills, and other relevant factors.

Schedule

Works in a professional office environment and routinely uses standard office equipment. Position may require visits to construction sites. Flexible work arrangements (if applicable).

Physical Demands

This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. Travel may require infrequent visits.
