About the role

We are seeking a Strategic Payments Partnerships Director to join the team of a leader in the Information Technology space. This role will lead strategic partnerships across the payments ecosystem, with a focus on merchant growth, partner economics, and market expansion. You will work closely with internal product and commercial teams to shape partnership priorities, support launches, and strengthen relationships with key external providers. The position requires a strong understanding of payments strategy, card network dynamics, and the ability to negotiate outcomes that balance growth with risk.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute strategies for winning and converting merchants to the company's payments offering
  • Build and manage relationships with major card brands and financial services providers globally
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to align on partnership initiatives
  • Set partner priorities and drive product development and innovation
  • Identify opportunities to enhance payments economics and efficiencies
  • Lead negotiations with card brands and payment partners to balance growth and risk
  • Serve as a subject-matter expert on the payments ecosystem and market trends

Qualifications

  • 5+ years managing relationships with major payments providers such as Fiserv, Stripe, and PayPal
  • 3+ years managing relationships with card brands including Visa and Mastercard
  • 5+ years in financial services strategy, particularly in fintech or payments
  • 3+ years of experience with product launches and market expansion in financial services
  • 5+ years of knowledge in payments economics and card network dynamics
