About the role

Join a nationally significant effort advancing a resilient, healthy Maui community. Your work will support recovery that strengthens long-term sustainability by aligning water, wastewater, stormwater, and watershed outcomes for community rebuilding.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct targeted and/or comprehensive business assessments and development of implementation strategies and plans for our clients to enhance their operations and efficiency.
  • Complete tasks or elements in development of client strategic plans and decision-making processes directly tied to the successful achievement of overall organizational and functional area goals.
  • Execute organizational development and management services for clients to achieve organizational excellence.
  • Develop and implement stakeholder engagement and communications plans including communication piece development.
  • Facilitate in-person and/or virtual stakeholder workshops across a diverse array of project, program, or other engagement needs to elicit input, foster alignment, and achieve desired engagement outcomes.
  • Flexibility to adapt and execute various additional assignments based on evolving needs.

Requirements

  • Experience typically a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in a related role.
  • Experience in analyzing organizational and business needs, organizational development, and change management.
  • Typically certified in the SMS Framework, and progressing through the SMS competencies.
  • Specifically, familiarity with Hawaii-specific water regulations, water policy frameworks, and permitting requirements.
  • Ability to navigate significant uncertainty while supporting informed decision-making.

Preferred Requirements

  • Experience working with public sector governance is an asset.
  • Experience specifically related to water, wastewater, and/or stormwater sector in Hawaii.

  • Systems thinking skills for analyzing organizational and business needs.
  • Proficiency in researching, developing, and communicating an understanding of a client's essential or critical business factors.
  • Organizational development and management principles.
  • Change leadership and management, decision support theories and models, and monitoring.
  • Strategic planning, engagement and communications approaches and plans.
  • Workshop design and implementation skills both in-person and virtual.
  • Communication piece development in a variety of mediums (written, audio, video) and content formats (text, graphics, photo, sound, and video).
  • Facilitation and interview skills.
  • Strong communication (written and oral) and presentation skills.
  • Developing leadership skills with the capability to inspire and guide a team.
  • Managing multi-disciplinary teams including subconsultants.
  • Developing proficiency in governance and policy development.
