Stockroom Coordinator
About the role
The Administration for Children’s Services (ACS) protects and promotes the safety and well‑being of children and families through child welfare, juvenile justice services, and community supports. Within ACS, the Division of Administration provides building maintenance, real estate, design, construction management, facilities, custodial services, occupational safety and health, operational support, security, transportation, and print production. The Supply Chain and Compliance Unit supplies selected goods and services to ACS families, children in care, and youth residents in detention centers. The Institutional Aide supports the provision of clothing, personal hygiene items, shoes, and related supplies to youth residents by maintaining accurate ordering, inventory, and distribution processes.
Responsibilities
- Ensure records are accurate and properly documented physically and/or digitally.
- Receive, store, care for, and distribute clothing items and supplies.
- Maintain neat and accurate written inventories; complete inventories on schedule.
- Keep supplies at adequate levels and ensure requisitions are properly signed and completed.
- Sort linen and pick up within prescribed deadlines.
- Pack, unpack, count, weigh, and measure materials and supplies.
- Clean storage, supply, and linen rooms and bags of soiled linen.
- Liaise with vendors regarding acceptance or rejection of deliveries.
- Load and unload items at points of pickup, delivery, or distribution, operating necessary equipment.
Minimum Qualifications
- Ability to read and write English and to understand and carry out simple instructions.
Pay
Salary between $40,223.00 and $46,256.00 (also listed as $40,223.00 – $51,248.00 in the posting).
Residency Requirement
New York City residency is generally required within 90 days of appointment. City employees in certain titles who have worked for the City for two continuous years may be eligible to reside in Nassau, Suffolk, Putnam, Westchester, Rockland, or Orange County.
