About the role

Aspen Skiing Company, a division of Aspen One, owns and operates four mountains: Snowmass, Aspen Mountain, Aspen Highlands, and Buttermilk. The company also manages the Aspen Snowmass Ski & Snowboard School, Four Mountain Sports rental and retail shops, and a range of on-mountain food and beverage outlets. Aspen Snowmass covers 5,680 acres of skiable terrain, featuring 40 ski lifts and over 410 trails.

Responsibilities

  • Clean and stack all dishes properly
  • Store dishes and silver in designated locations
  • Set up cleaning area: assemble dish machine, fill water tanks, turn on heating elements
  • Maintain a clean and sanitary work environment
  • Assist with storage of food deliveries
  • Clean kitchen walls, floors, loading docks, and other areas
  • Disassemble, clean, and reassemble dishwasher before end of shift
  • Post appropriate caution signs when the floor is wet or being mopped
  • Absorb and prepare food items according to chef specifications
  • Follow daily preparation list to ensure items are ready for service
  • Report any problems with food products, kitchen equipment, or work areas to the Executive Steward
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Prior work experience in a commercial kitchen preferred
  • ServSafe or similar food safety course certification preferred
  • Great knowledge of company policies and procedures
  • Familiarity with company rules, regulations, and operational standards
  • Basic industry terminology knowledge
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively
  • Ability to identify and solve straightforward issues
  • Ability to follow oral or written directions in basic English
  • Ability to work collaboratively with others
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays

  • Work Environment & Physical Demands: Ability to reach, crouch, kneel, stand, walk or be on your feet for extended periods of time; regularly work in wet, hot and humid conditions; may be required to walk on slippery and uneven surfaces; ability to lift, push or pull up to 50 lbs. individually or with assistance; ability to ski or ride at an intermediate level is required for employees of ski in/ski out restaurants in the winter
