Shift Details: Full-time (40 hrs/wk) Sunday, Monday and Tuesday (AM shifts: 6:30am to 3:00pm) Wednesday & Thursday (PM shifts: 2:30pm to 9:30pm) Friday & Saturday (Days Off)

About the Role
This position is responsible to lead the Nutrition Steward team when other leadership is not on-site while fulfilling the role of the Nutrition Steward. Resolves immediate issues regarding sanitizing procedures, workflow and rearranging staffing as needed. Escalates to manager as appropriate.
Responsibilities
- Leads and maintains workflow of assigned area and ensures tasks are completed.
- Cleans and sanitizes dishes.
- Collections carts with patient trays from hospital floors.
- Cleans and disinfects assigned areas including dining areas using department cleaning procedures.
- Uses cleaning chemicals properly according to Joint Commission and OSHA standards.
- Understands procedures and properly disposes of infectious waste and trash.
- Operates and maintains assigned equipment (e.g. commercial dishwasher) according to established procedures.
- Supports a disciplined environment and provides after hours supervision in the absence of the supervisor.
Qualifications
- Food Handler Permit or ServSafe certification is required by first day of work (required only in the states of Utah and Idaho).
- ServSafe certification obtained within 90 days of hire date if not current.
- Demonstrated ability to read and communicate effectively in English.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and work independently as well as part of a team.
- Demonstrated ability to read color coded labels and chemicals as well as following written and verbal directions.
- Demonstrate ability to operate housekeeping equipment and dish machine (preferred).

Physical Requirements
- Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, labels, monitors, identify equipment and supplies, and be able to assess customer needs.
- Occasional interaction with customers that requires employee to communicate as well as understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately.
- Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy.
- This includes frequent computer, phone, and cable set-up and use.
- Expected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transport, pull, and push equipment.
- Will also work on hands and knees and bend to set-up, troubleshoot, lift, and carry supplies and equipment.
- Typically includes items of varying weights, up to and including heavy items.
- Remain standing for long periods of time to perform work.
- Tolerate extremes in temperature such as performing work around dish machines and tolerate exposure to cleaning chemicals.
