Steward / Dishwasher

About the Role

Join our dynamic kitchen team at the historic Hotel Roanoke & Conference Center and play a vital role in creating exceptional dining experiences! We are seeking a dependable and hardworking Steward/Dishwasher & Kitchen Cleaner who thrives in a fast-paced environment, takes pride in maintaining cleanliness, and can work both independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Dishwashing Excellence: Clean and sanitize dishes, glassware, utensils, pots, and pans efficiently to support kitchen operations.
• Maintain Kitchen Cleanliness: Ensure all kitchen areas meet the highest standards of cleanliness, safety, and sanitation.
• Cleaning & Waste Management: Clean kitchen surfaces, floors, and equipment, remove trash, and follow proper recycling procedures.
• Support Team Operations: Work collaboratively with chefs and kitchen staff to maintain an organized and efficient workflow.
• Organize Supplies: Keep storage areas clean, organized, and properly stocked.
• Work Independently: Complete assigned cleaning and sanitation tasks with minimal supervision while maintaining quality standards.
• Positive Attitude: Contribute to a friendly, professional, and team-oriented work environment.

Qualifications

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and perform physical tasks throughout the shift.
• Must be a team player while also being capable of working independently and managing responsibilities with minimal supervision.
• Reliability and punctuality are essential. Must consistently report to work on time and as scheduled.
• Good communication and organizational skills.
• Flexible schedule with availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Basic knowledge of kitchen safety and sanitation practices preferred.

Schedule

PM Shift: Typical shift is 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM (hours may vary based on business needs). Scheduled 5 out of 7 days per week. Open availability required, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Pay

$14.00 - $16.00
