Steel Detailing Manager (Tekla)
About the role
Join a Team Redefining How Steel Gets Delivered. At Evolve, you’ll lead detailing on complex, high-impact projects—including a $200M corporate campus and large-scale urban redevelopment projects—while helping shape the future of integrated steel delivery. This is a remote role open to candidates across the U.S. We have a preference for individuals based in the Midwest to West Coast to align with team collaboration hours.
Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of structural steel detailers
- Oversee quality and accuracy of shop drawings and models
- Ensure constructability and coordination across trades
- Partner with project managers, fabricators, and field teams
- Solve real-world field and fabrication challenges
- Manage RFIs, change tracking, and detailing workflows
- Drive continuous improvement in detailing processes and standards
Requirements
- 12+ years in structural steel detailing
- 5+ years in checking / leadership / oversight
- Strong expertise in Tekla Structures
- Deep understanding of fabrication and erection workflows
- Knowledge of AISC, AWS, and relevant codes
- Experience with AutoCAD / SDS (preferred)

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Passion for delivering high-quality steel detailing solutions
- Experience with integrated project delivery (IPD) principles
