STEAM Outreach Coordinator
Smith College · Northampton, MA · 1 mo ago
OTHR$45k–$84k/yrFull-time
We need to output HTML fragment with sections: About the role? Actually we need to use headings for sections: About the role, Responsibilities, Requirements, Qualifications, Skills, Benefits, Pay, Schedule. Only include sections when posting has real specific content.
We must preserve all substantive info, not invent or summarize away detail. Remove boilerplate: contact email, department, job summary? Actually job summary is part of description; we can include under About the role maybe. We need to not repeat job title as heading. No Job ID etc.
We need to extract content:
- Job Summary: "Collaborate with the Jandon Center for Community Engagement (JCCE) team, Smith College centers including Clark Science Center, student organizations, and faculty/staff to implement Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math (STEAM)-centric year-round innovative outreach programming on behalf of Smith College. Manage student workers, fellows, and scholars in carrying out the JCCE’s externally facing mission of community engagement by leading and providing experiential learning and social change opportunities with Western Massachusetts partners. Design, implement and evaluate STEAM programming to address urgent, complex societal issues with a focus on a) access and equity and b) innovative program models."
- Note about schedule: "Please Note: There is an opportunity to work either 10 months @ 35 hrs/wk or 12 months @ 29 hrs/wk. This is a .83 FTE. The adjusted salary range for this position is $45,110-$83,776."
- Essential Functions: broken into sections: Program Innovation and Delivery (50%); Jandon team collaboration and program integration (20%); Liaison with Clark Science Center (15%); Operations and Administration (15%). Each includes bullet-like sentences.
- Minimum Qualifications Required: Bachelor's Degree, preferably with major emphasis of study in science and education; Three years of relevant coordination/management experience in an educational setting; Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered; Experience with increasing access for students from diverse backgrounds; Experience working with individuals from diverse backgrounds; Valid driver's license.
- Skills: list: strong commitment to liberal arts education for women and college/school partnerships as means of fostering diverse and enriching learning opportunities for all; excellent writing and speaking skills; advanced knowledge of MS Office; outstanding motivational, organizational and interpersonal skills; ability to communicate and work effectively with students and all levels of college departments and partner organizations; strong science teaching pedagogical and curriculum writing skills and broad-based content knowledge in the sciences and engineering; ability to organize and prioritize work effectively, take initiative and responsibility, resolve problems, and manage multiple tasks simultaneously; direct evaluation and fiscal management of outreach programs.
- Compensation: "In addition to a competitive benefits package, annualized pay for this role is typically between $65,996.44 - $89,289.30 covering the middle half of market compensation. Actual compensation will vary based on individual qualifications and work schedule if less than full-time."
- Benefits: mention "competitive benefits package". Could include Benefits section.
- Pay: we have salary range and annualized pay. We need Pay section only if posting actually states them. It does: adjusted salary range $45,110-$83,776 and annualized pay typical $65,996.44 - $89,289.30. So we can include Pay.
- Schedule: we have note about opportunity to work either 10 months @ 35 hrs/wk or 12 months @ 29 hrs/wk. This is .83 FTE. So we can include Schedule.
- Benefits: we have "competitive benefits package". That's specific enough? It says "In addition to a competitive benefits package". That's a statement about benefits. We can include Benefits section with that sentence.
- About the role: we can put Job Summary under About the role.
- Responsibilities: we can put Essential Functions (the detailed duties) under Responsibilities.
- Requirements: maybe Minimum Qualifications Required.
- Qualifications: maybe we could combine Requirements and Qualifications? But we need separate headings only if content exists. We have both Minimum Qualifications Required and Skills. Skills could go under Skills heading. Qualifications could be under Qualifications heading (maybe education/experience). But we already have Requirements for qualifications. To avoid duplication, we could treat Minimum Qualifications as Requirements, and Skills as Skills. Qualifications maybe not needed if we already have Requirements. But we need to follow instruction: use headings for section headings (e.g. About the role, Responsibilities, Requirements, Qualifications, Skills, Benefits, Pay, Schedule). We should include only those with real content. So we can have About the role, Responsibilities, Requirements, Skills, Benefits, Pay, Schedule. Qualifications maybe not needed if we already covered in Requirements. But we could split: Requirements = Minimum Qualifications Required; Qualifications = maybe "Preferred qualifications"? Not present. So we omit Qualifications.
Now we need to preserve all substantive information. Must not invent or summarize away detail. So we need to keep the exact sentences? We can keep them as is, but we can format as
paragraphs and
- for lists.
We need to avoid repeating job title as heading. No job ID.
We need to remove boilerplate: contact email, department, job summary? Actually job summary is substantive; we keep. Contact email is boilerplate? It's "If you have any questions about the position or our application process, reach out to us at recruiting-u@smith.edu." That's application instruction? Actually it's contact for questions; could be considered boilerplate but it's not application instructions. However instruction says remove cookie/navigation/legal/EEO/equal-opportunity/scam-warning boilerplate, duplicated lines, and application instructions. The email for questions might be considered application instructions? It's not exactly application instructions but could be considered contact. Safer to remove it? The instruction says remove application instructions. The email for questions is not exactly application instructions but could be considered contact. I'd keep it maybe under About the role? But it's not part of role description. Safer to remove.
Also remove lines like "Please attach BOTH a current resume and a cover letter..." that's application instruction -> remove.
Also remove "Review of applications will begin September 25, 2026" -> application instruction -> remove.
Also remove "About Smith College" etc? That's boilerplate about college; could be considered not substantive to role? It's about employer but maybe considered boilerplate. The instruction says remove cookie/navigation/legal/EEO/equal-opportunity/scam-warning boilerplate, duplicated lines, and application instructions. "About Smith College" is not explicitly listed but could be considered boilerplate? It's not legal/EEO. Might be considered organizational description; but it's not required to preserve? The instruction says preserve ALL substantive information; do NOT invent or summarize away detail. The "About Smith College" is substantive about employer but maybe not required? It's not about the position. However it's not explicitly excluded. But typical job posting reformat often includes only role-specific info. I'd keep it? Might be considered filler. I'd remove to keep focused.
Also remove EEO statements etc.
Thus final HTML:
