Stationary Technician - Building Operation Services

About the role

Responsible for the installation, maintenance, operation, and repair of machinery, equipment, and systems as required to maintain functioning building(s).

Responsibilities

• Perform all duties required to operate, repair, and maintain machinery, equipment, and systems in Harris County facilities within City, County, and State guidelines.
• May be required to drive a personal or county vehicle to various work sites.
• Assume the supervisor's duties when the supervisor is absent, train less experienced co‑workers, and perform other duties as assigned.
• May be required to be on call after hours.
• May work outside in all kinds of weather; may work with no air conditioning or heating, will work on ladders and scaffolding; duties require standing, sitting, stretching, bending, stooping, climbing, frequent lifting a minimum of 50 lbs. of equipment, supplies, and tools, and must have the ability to safely install rigging/lifting devices for heavier items.
• Work in cramped and awkward positions with all types of mechanical tools, electric and other equipment, and may be exposed to dust, dirt, paint fumes, etc.
