About the role

We're looking for an experienced Building Automation Service Technician to join a growing systems integration company serving customers throughout the greater Chicago area.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, repair, and maintain commercial Building Automation Systems (BAS/BMS).
  • Perform controller programming, software modifications, graphics updates, database changes, and point-to-point verification.
  • Commission new installations and support retrofit and system expansion projects.
  • Respond to customer service calls, identify root causes, and provide effective long-term solutions.
  • Optimize HVAC control sequences to improve system performance and energy efficiency.
  • Work with building owners, facility managers, and maintenance personnel to resolve system issues and provide technical support.
  • Read and interpret control drawings, wiring diagrams, sequences of operation, and mechanical plans.
  • Document service activities, recommend system improvements, and communicate project updates.
  • Cook up with engineering and project teams on larger automation projects.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of commercial Building Automation or HVAC Controls experience.
  • Strong troubleshooting and service experience with DDC control systems.
  • Hands-on experience with Tridium Niagara (N4) is highly preferred.
  • Experience with one or more of the following BAS platforms is preferred: Siemens, Distech Controls, Alerton or Delta Controls.
  • Experience programming, commissioning, and servicing HVAC control systems.
  • Knowledge of BACnet and other open communication protocols.
  • Ability to troubleshoot controllers, sensors, actuators, VFDs, and networked control systems.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • Valid driver's license and the ability to travel locally throughout the Chicago area.

Schedule

Local travel required.

Pay

$35 - $55 per hour.
