Key Responsibilities
- Schedule and adjust nursing shifts to ensure adequate coverage across all units.
- Coordinate shift coverage for call-offs, absences, and last-minute changes.
- Monitor staffing trends and communicate potential issues to leadership.
- Communicate with nursing staff about schedules and shift updates.
- Collaborate with nursing leadership to address staffing needs and optimize workflow.
- Provide timely and clear communication regarding schedule changes, policies, and announcements.
- Maintain accurate records of hours worked, staffing patterns, and schedule adjustments.
- Avoid non-compliance with labor laws, facility policies, and any union or contractual requirements.
- Aid in reporting for payroll or timekeeping purposes.
- Collaborate with HR, nursing leadership, and administration to improve scheduling processes.
- Support initiatives that enhance staff satisfaction, retention, and work-life balance.
Qualifications
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
- An associate or bachelor’s degree in a related field is preferred.
- Experience in scheduling, staffing coordination, or administrative support, preferably in healthcare is desired.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills are essential.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities are necessary.
- Comfort with using scheduling software and Microsoft Office is beneficial.
