Staffing Coordinator

Key Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain monthly staffing schedules and daily nursing assignments to ensure appropriate coverage.
  • Monitor and calculate nursing staffing hours to maintain regulatory compliance.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Nursing on recruitment efforts, including interviewing, hiring, disciplinary actions, and terminations of CNAs, CMTs, and Nursing staff.
  • Maintain accurate attendance, scheduling, and personnel records.
  • Process Payroll Change Notices (PCNs) for new hires, terminations, status changes, wage increases, and leaves of absence.
  • Conduct reference checks and employment verifications for prospective candidates.
  • Maintain an up-to-date contact database for all nursing personnel.
  • Follow up with new hires to ensure onboarding requirements, credentials, and compliance documentation are completed.
  • Auxiliary duties as assigned by the Director of Nursing or Administrator.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years of Staffing Coordinator experience in a skilled nursing facility, rehabilitation center, or long-term care setting.
  • Strong knowledge of staffing regulations and scheduling practices within healthcare.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and time-management skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Proficiency with scheduling systems, payroll processes, and Microsoft Office applications.
