About the role
Headway’s mission is to provide accessible mental healthcare by automating administrative tasks and building tools for therapists to run their practices. We are a Series D company with a focus on group practices, aiming to expand access to affordable mental healthcare.
Responsibilities
- Design the onboarding, activation, and in-product experience for supervisors and supervisees as we expand from New York to all 50 states.
- Build bulk workflows, role-based views, multi-provider management, and practice-level analytics for admins and owners.
- Ensure platform-wide launches for group practices, adapting them to the group practice context.
- Partner with Sales and Customer Success to translate customer insights into product direction and design decisions.
- Contribute to the design system and culture, sharing AI practices and patterns with the design team.
Requirements
- 8+ years of product design experience, focusing on multi-user systems with different roles and permissions.
- Experience designing new product lines, validating business models, and scaling product areas.
- Strong understanding of revenue models and ability to connect design decisions to business outcomes.
- Comfortable working with AI prototyping tools like Claude Code, Cursor, and MagicPatterns.
- Ability to partner with Sales and Customer Success to gather insights and influence product decisions.
Qualifications
- Proven success in designing for platforms or marketplaces where segment-specific needs must be balanced with platform consistency.
- Strong visual and interaction design skills across growth surfaces and product surfaces.
- Able to adapt design approaches to accommodate different personas (admins, operators, end users).
Skills
- Expertise in user-centered design principles and methodologies.
- Experience with agile methodologies and iterative design processes.
- Strong project management and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a remote and distributed team environment.

Pay
The expected base pay range for this position is $212,000 - $265,000, based on a variety of factors including qualifications, experience, and geographic location.
