Staff Nurse - Urgent Care

About the role

The Staff Nurse provides specialized nursing care based on principles of biological, physical, behavioral, social, and nursing sciences.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and direct patient-centered care for individuals or groups within their scope of practice.
• Deliver holistic care addressing physical, psychosocial, educational, and safety needs across all ages and developmental stages.
• Perform leadership, mentorship, and professional duties, including precepting new staff.
• Engage in quality improvement, safety initiatives, and evidence-based practices.
• Collaborate with provider staff to ensure efficient operations, high-quality care, and excellent customer service, especially for pediatric patients.
• Utilize systems-based practices, informatics, and technology effectively.
• Adapt to temporary assignments across various hospital areas based on patient needs.
• Perform other related duties as required.

Qualifications & Skills

• Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work under pressure, prioritize tasks, and work collaboratively within a team.
• Experience with Microsoft Office and electronic medical records (e.g., EPIC) preferred.
• Minimum of a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or obtained within five years of hire.
• Current RN licensure in Ohio and Basic Life Support certification required.
• At least one year of healthcare experience preferred.
