About the role
The Staff Nurse provides specialized nursing care, utilizing knowledge from biological, physical, behavioral, social, and nursing sciences.
Responsibilities
- Assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and direct patient care with a focus on family-centered approaches.
- Deliver comprehensive care addressing physical, psychosocial, educational, and safety needs across all ages and developmental stages.
- Perform leadership, professional duties, and patient-centered care activities.
- Engage in quality improvement, safety initiatives, and staff education, including mentoring new employees.
- Support collaboration with provider staff to ensure efficient, high-quality pediatric care and excellent customer service.
- Execute systems-based practices, informatics, and technology duties, with potential temporary assignments across the organization based on patient needs.
- Perform other duties as required.
Qualifications
- Strong leadership, communication (verbal and written), and organizational skills.
- Ability to work under pressure, prioritize tasks, and work effectively with diverse organizational levels.
- Experience in healthcare, proficiency in Microsoft Office, and familiarity with electronic medical records (preferred).
- Demonstrated ability to motivate and guide staff as part of a collaborative team.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required or to be obtained within five years.
- Current Basic Life Support certification; PALS and ACLS within one year.
- Active RN license in Ohio, with Multistate License required within 90 days if providing care outside Ohio.
- Minimum of one year of relevant experience preferred.
Work Environment
Part-time, onsite role working primarily weekdays during daytime hours, with occasional coverage in Warren. Focused on pediatric patient care with opportunities for cross-departmental assignments.
