Pulmonary Care Nurse Responsibilities

• Plan, implement and assess treatment plans for patients with respiratory illnesses
• Conduct patient interviews/assessments
• Maintain and monitor patients' progress towards goals
• Carry out diagnostic testing procedures
• Auxiliary and collaborative work with other healthcare professionals (physicians and respiratory therapists)
• Manage and administer medications
• Provide education on medications and various breathing treatments to patients and their families
• Administer different treatments including Oxygen Therapy, Manual CPT, Breathing Exercises, etc.
• Advise patients on lifestyle changes to alleviate symptoms
• Provide education on preventing respiratory illnesses
• Assessment and management of ventilator and tracheostomy patients

Pulmonary Care Nurse Qualifications

• Graduated from an accredited nursing program
• Licensed RN
