Pulmonary Nurse Responsibilities
- Perform chest examinations
- Screen potential residents for Pulmonary Improvement Program, if appropriate for program, request order from provider for program
- Enter orders in PCC and initiate care plan
- Do Initial Evaluations, Re-Evaluations, Discharges and Daily Notes according to Medicare guidelines
- Document billing daily
- Consult with doctors and other healthcare staff to develop and modify patient treatment plans
- Provide detailed therapy, requiring significant independent judgment when caring for patients in intensive care
- Perform physical examination and diagnostic tests measuring lung capacity
- Treat patients using oxygen or oxygen mixtures, aerosol medications as needed and chest physiotherapy
- Educate patients on how to use equipment and medication
- Regularly check on patients and equipment

Pulmonary Nurse/Nurse Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements
- Current Nursing License in the state of Montana (LPN or RN)
- Long-Term Care experience preferred; however, not required
- Current BLS for Healthcare Provider CPR or CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer certification
